Education…the chance to the rescue
Education is supposed to lead the movement of progress, but in fact the movement of progress preceded educational institutions, so we started running behind what is happening in industry and technology, and not the other way around.
However, those who make progress, invent, innovate and innovate are still scholars and young people who graduate from the education systems and make themselves after that.
When a person buys a computer, it is a piece of iron that has no value except for the software that can be loaded onto it. From 10% of this capacity, it is easier for a person to reuse what he already knows and is comfortable with that. Likewise, the human body without what it contains of spirit, soul and mind has no value, which explains its decomposition and disappearance if it is emptied of the energy of the soul and the mind stops working, which means its death.
The human mind has a gigantic capacity, and we only use 7% to 8% of its programs, and when a person is a genius, he may use 9% to 10% of the capabilities of his mighty mind. The means of development is to use the capabilities of our minds to think and learn knowledge to accommodate what God has created of capacity in our minds that we have not used yet.
Everything that comes to mind is possible to happen, because if it was not present in the mind program [software], it would not have occurred to the mind in the first place. And whoever watched science fiction movies in the fifties and sixties realizes that what we are living now is more than the imagination of humans just half a century ago.
We all read about changes in the quality of work. Today’s jobs may disappear, most of them, and new jobs may arise for new needs.
Humanity will change based on capabilities that exist and are happening today, and what was happening in the twentieth century may not have value in the twenty-first century, but without it what is happening now would not have happened. Man builds with science an accumulation of knowledge and the cycle of civilization that used to take thousands of years and then shrank to tens of years is now only about two years, which requires us to think positively and realize the new opportunity that was not available to us in the past, we do not need hundreds of years or even tens to catch up. Evolution or be one of its makers.
The children of Egypt stand on the same stage as the rest of the world’s children, so today we have the possibility of taking a shortcut. We have the opportunity to move with others a quantum leap in a short time, it is a challenge and an opportunity if we are sane.
Knowledge has become available to everyone at no cost, and those who have imagination more than others are children and young people.
Our children are born with a curiosity of knowledge and their mind is full of imagination, and they use their senses and their imagination to know what is around them and what they have of tools far beyond what we had at their same age, and we are the ones who limit children’s use of their abilities and surround them with restrictions in their first years of life until they enter school, which is The system that man made two and a half centuries ago just to make all people one pattern. We are the ones who invented the method that puts the ideas of a previous generation as sacred in the mind of a next generation so that they become duplicates.
We put the children within a framework that we make for fourteen years, and they have the means to obtain knowledge, which may contradict what we put in their minds of ideas, and we are the ones who make their consciences. And they think of violence to make others another image of themselves, and they do not accept the pluralism that God created, and they do not respect the freedom of others to choose, for this is our making, not them.
Our society, gentlemen, is the product of our management of the education system, media, art and culture….
Curiosity is a virtue, and without it, the movement of human civilization and education systems will stop, whether in Egypt or elsewhere. They will participate, whether they want or not, in the curricula of mathematics and science, as they transcend borders and are not of our making. However, teaching humanities and coexistence in educational institutions is still circulating in the pattern of an earlier generation trying to reproduce it. A generation like him to live in the past instead of the present he will create or the future these children will build.
And because the sources of knowledge have become available and free of cost, the form of the school and the university of the future has differed and will differ, and it must differ. The job of the teacher who explains a lesson in the traditional way has become insufficient and unrealistic because the student has become able to read about the topic of the lesson before he comes to class, and he has the means according to his age, which makes him ready for discussion instead of just receiving knowledge from one side. The teacher has become a facilitator, and he is the one who guarantees the student the validity of his references, or directs him to other references and guides him on how to choose the best, and inculcates in his conscience the methodology of research and finding proof.
The role of the educational institution is not limited to traditional education, but its main role must be to formulate conscience, build a normal personality, and cultivate moral and human values that are balanced with artificial intelligence and digital, which must come.
The truth is that the school should be the place where the student goes to in order to get along with his other classmates, practice the skills of the twenty-first century, learn to work in a team, draw, sing, play music, practice sports, make mistakes, be injured, participate, meet challenges, express himself, compete scientifically and mathematically, and win. With honor without arrogance, loses without anger, and learns from his mistakes…
Parents and the media talk about changing the curricula as if they are the root of the problems, and this is not the case. Rather, it is the simplest of them. What we really want to change is the method of delivering information to the student, according to his ability to absorb, and to create a facilitating teacher who follows up on this achievement, and integrates technology in his conscience to think and prove the values of integrity.
