Cairo International University Theater Forum held a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of Palestine

In its press conference, the Cairo International University Theater Forum held a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of Palestine:
The press conference of the Cairo International Forum for University Theater began at 6:30 yesterday, Sunday, 10/15/2023. For the fifth session, which bears the name of the distinguished artist Farida Fahmy, and under the slogan “Life is Ours”, at the Hanager Cinema, in the Cairo Opera House, in the presence of director Amr Kabil, founder and president of the forum, the members of the Supreme Committee and the heads of the executive committees, and a large group of artists and intellectuals, including the director. Ahmed Al-Sayed, and critic Dr. Dalia Hammam, and critic Dr. Samia Habib, journalist Suhair Al-Basha, Director of Youth Welfare at Thebes Academy, journalist Bassem Sadiq, head of the theater department at Al-Ahram newspaper, director and artist Zuhair Abdel Karim, and writer Rasha Abdel Moneim.
Director Amr Qabil, Chairman of the Forum, announced that Professor Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Chairman of the Supreme Committee, apologized for his attendance due to his sudden travel outside the country, and that he extends his greetings and thanks to everyone who came today to follow the conference, and that he will be present at the opening ceremony at the British University next Saturday.
At the beginning of the conference, the conference presenter, director Ahmed Alaa, invited the audience to observe a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of Palestine, in the recent events carried out by the brutal occupation forces.
It is noteworthy that the Cairo International Forum for University Theater is chaired by the founder of the forum, director Amr Kabil, and its higher committee is chaired by Professor Dr. Hossam Badrawy, and its membership includes the distinguished artist Tariq El-Desouki, the writer and author Fatima Naout, and the writer Dr. Amal Siddiq Afifi, and Professor Dr. Samar Saeed, Dean of the Higher Institute of Folk Arts, Secretary-General of the Forum, and Artistic Director of the Forum, the star artist Hossam Dagher.
The forum continues its sessions after the success and great international resonance of the first international gathering of its kind in Egypt for university theatre, where the first session was launched in October 2018, under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Director Amr Kabil announced that the fifth session is witnessing great developments and contains many new activities, competitions, and international workshops specialized in theater arts, as well as a group of intellectual seminars and round tables.
Choosing the name of the great artist Farida Fahmy to be on the fifth session came to confirm that Egyptian universities were and still are an inspiration for many artistic projects and that they are one of the most important tributaries of art and culture in any society, as the Reda Band relied in its founding on students and graduates of Egyptian universities who were the best ambassadors for art. The Library of Alexandria was chosen to host the closing ceremony to be the first time that the closing ceremony was held outside Cairo and to give the forum’s guests from various countries of the world the opportunity to visit a cultural landmark of the value and importance of the historical Library of Alexandria, which is considered a destination for all the peoples of the world.
The forum is organizing its fifth session, from 21 to 27 October 2023, under the official patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, for the third session in a row, with the support and sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and the Minister of Culture, Professor Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Tourism Promotion Authority, and the Egyptian Artists Foundation for Culture and Arts.
