Dr. Hossam Badrawi participated in a march in solidarity with women. It is arranged by Arab Women Organization in cooperation with Cairo University, on the occasion of Arab Women’s Day on 1st of February of every year. This day is to be devoted for the Arabian solidarity and solidarity with the refugee and displaced women in the Arabian region.
The march took place with the participation of Ambassador Mervat al-Tallawy, Director General of the Arab Women Organization, Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, Dr. Maya Morsi, President of Egypt’s National Council for Women, Arab Ambassadors and Diplomats and their spouses, academic staff members, media personnel, academics, Arab communities living in Egypt, and the actresses Yousra, Elham Shahin and Yasmine Sabri.
The march aims to pronounce solidarity with the cases of refugee and displaced women in the Arabian region, and the call to support them with all possible facilities, and protect them from any sort of violence, from which they suffer under their hard circumstances.
The march coincided with the bad situation which many Arabian countries go through under the current struggles and the aggravation of refugee crisis day after day, especially in Syria, Libya, Iraq and Yemen, which suffer from internal displacement and that their citizens to other countries. In addition to the Arabian countries hosting refugees, which bear the burden placed on them in the light of their bad economic conditions.
