In a wonderful lecture, Dr. Hossam Badrawi met more than 150 outstanding students from public language schools, ranging 14 – 16 years, as a part from a training grant provided to the students within the framework of Education First project. Dr. Badrawi spoke with the students for two hours. He gave them interactive lecture entitled ‘Twenty First Century Skills’. The lecture was exciting and interactive and everybody participated in it. Dr. Badrawi spoke about happiness and its importance to man, and how happiness is a positive choice that we should seek to for a man to be happy a good citizen useful for himself and others. Dr. Badrawi asked each student to mention 5 things that can make them happy. The students went up on the stage to talk about what made them happy. The students had some common reasons for being happy, like spending time with their families, praying, listening to music, playing football, drawing and going out with their friends and reading. When our children feel happy, this implies a mentally and emotionally healthy society. This was how Dr. Badrawi expressed what the students said. A girl surprised Dr. Badrawi asking him about the five things that make him happy. How did he answer? Watch the video. The students talked to Dr. Badrawi freely about Abbas El Akkad and his books, Taha Hussein and effect and Einstein and his famous quotes. They talked with Dr. Badrawi in the field of art, music and science fiction. He was happy of the cultural and scientific level of youth as well as openness of their minds and abilities. After the lecture, he said to the audiences, “We should rest assured on Egypt and its future, because its children and youth are better than what we think of them, more beautiful than how we describe them and more capable than we can imagine.
