The plane fell from altitude due to a deep turbulence. On time span, it lasted for a second or two, but as a feeling, it lasted for a day or two. How do all these events, memories and ideas flash in a second?
Passengers screamed, some cried out of fear and panic, some laughed hysterically. Each mother held her child tightly.
The moment is over. Silence prevailed except for some prayers and praising God.
I had a strange feeling, at the moment and afterwards. To whom God is speaking now? I asked myself, in that second.
When I asked the question, I imagined that God was directly communicating with me, saying I am closer to you than your jugular vein, I communicate with all my creatures, human, plant, animal, insect or even inanimate. As God provided man with characteristics He did not provide any other creature with, these are awareness of himself, others and his Creator, as well as mind and will. God permanently and continuously communicates with man while man opens communication at desire, fear, terror, sickness and complaining. Most people chose not to listen directly to God except through a mediator, even if the mediator dates back to thousands of years.
Even the prayers that God commanded us to perform, most of us understood it in form not in spirit. Most believe it is just a duty, worship and obedience. While in fact, it is a reminder to communicate with God, the Almighty. The channel is always open from His side, but we who need a reminder.
Once again, I asked myself, how does God talk so people can listen to Him? Dispatching messengers and prophets to speak about Him and with us had its time, which is gone. Those who claimed having these abilities followed their path. After reflecting, thinking through and using my personal experience in communication, I concluded that God communicates with us through our feelings, thoughts, life experience and finally words. Words are limited to language letters, any language, can be interpreted in more than one meaning, according to the situations and conditions and time it which it is said, but feeling is the language of spirit and soul.
God communicates in thoughts too. Sometimes He delivers His messages in a way that we might, or might not, think that they are messages from Him. He even, sometimes, gives us a vision to the future through our imagination, curiosity to know, and glimpse of intelligence He blessed us with that motivates us to explore life, science and knowledge that have already existed before being discovered as they are made by Him originally. We transcend to know the universe and its Creator better and deeper.
God also communicates with us through our life trials. A trial is the key to experience, experience is the path to wisdom and wisdom opens our eyes to life facts, goodness and to God’s closeness to us in a way that some of us do not know or feel, despite He consistently communicates with us.
Words come after feeling, thoughts and experience. It is a means that can be misunderstood, reinterpreted and even used by some for purposes other than theirs, after it is taken out of the context of its comprehensive meanings.
Words can make us understand something better, but experience makes us know more.
Strangely enough that we over time made words the only means to communicate with God. We repeat the word “God” and “words of God”. We say words in the name of God; even we listen to Quran which is actually the words of God as if we sing without listening or even trying to understand. We overlook our understanding abilities, our trials, feelings and thoughts that do not need to interpret words others say in the name of God.
Some say the ideas they think of can be evil. How can we differentiate between those and God’s messages that God transmits to and in us? I tell you that God’s messages must have joy, clarity, truth, love and justice. Evil is the lack of good. God only creates good and says nothing but good.
Are there specific people who are able to communicate with God? Is there a specific time to communicate?
Many people think that God has particular ways to communicate with humans and that He selects only those who are special.
It is a question that people ask. They even believe in this peculiarity. However, I see that every human is peculiar. There is no specific time for a human to communicate with God.
The peculiarity of God’s communication with specific individuals excludes most humans from the responsibility of directly communicating with Him, listening to His messages, even makes them take what others say as an alternative. In this case, we replaced, by our negative will, God Who never ceases to communicate with every person to listen to His messages through others. We invented an alternative and mediator for what is available to us directly from our Creator. We decided to listen to others, instead of listening to God Himself. He sent us His Book. He communicates with each one of us in his thoughts, life trials and feelings. We believe we made things easier to ourselves by depending on others in understanding and communicating!
When you pray, in any form of prayers, in every religion and belief, it is a two-way road, from and to you to communicate, not a one-way road intended only for worship, obedience and performing a duty. As a human, you might need reminding to communicate with God, but God is always communicating with you, you just cannot see or listen. If every man understand that God sends him personally His messages, he will be responsible for their interpretation and understanding. This is safer for him in interpreting what he listens to than just surrendering to the interpretation of those who lived thousands of years before him.
In addition, God changes His messages, despite maintaining its essence, as He is the Maker of time. He knows how conditions are changed due to increase of knowledge and depth of science because eventually He is the Owner of Science and Knowledge, but he provides us with what our minds that evolve and knowledge that expands can take. If we stick to the interpretation of our precedents, it will be as if we deny God’s messages and His continuous communication with us.
A moment of fear, a moment of panic and a second in span of time provided me the idea, feeling and trial.
Thank you God for getting me enlighted.
