Between the Arab Spring and the American Spring

The young politician said to me: What is happening in the United States of America, Doctor?

The demonstrations that erupted in most states as a result of the killing of a citizen on the air from the police in Minneapolis was like a spark that lit a fire, and the US President added it with his tweets and comments, which indicate racist aspects in his personality. Do these demonstrations not indicate an internal anger in the souls and a popular sense of injustice?

I said: The cause of the “demonstrations” is not the killing of the black citizen (George Floyd), this incident is just the spark that ignited the events, the real reason is the historical legacy of the racist practices of the white man against African citizens, extending for more than four centuries to this day, a history Bloody despicable, which is the essence of the crisis.

His colleague said: I made a sarcastic comparison between the Arab Spring and what we lived in Egypt and what is happening in America, so would you like to hear it?

I said: Bring what you have.

She said: Our revolution ignited in January after the death of a young man in Alexandria as a result of police violence, which sparked internal anger within the souls at the repeated mistreatment of citizens in police stations, which is what happened in Minneapolis. Citizens began to demonstrate without a leader, and demand justice and freedom. Our demonstration was not made by the unemployed, the poor, or the political parties, but by citizens of all classes and all parties, including young people from the ruling National Party at the time. My brothers and I were in the demonstrations in Tahrir Square, and I was a member of the National Party.. We yearned for freedom, democracy and social justice, and we looked at leaders

Like you within the party are also demanding that. So when you were summoned politically to a position of party responsibility, we rejoiced and felt that there was hope for reform.

In America, the demonstrations also demand equality and fair treatment for all citizens. In both cases, the police are stupid, end in mutual violence, and the deaths start. In our case, we accused the Brotherhood of taking the revolution for a political orientation in their favour, relying on deceiving the demonstrators that everyone is on one side against the brute authority.. The truth is that they were the brute authority that held our breath after that with greater injustice and unilateralism against citizenship and freedom of belief.

There the president accuses the extreme left, and it is not far from accusing China or Russia of interfering in America’s affairs and working to stir up racial contradictions and deepen racism.

In our case, it was proven that America and Britain are behind the Brotherhood alliance, and they want to overthrow the Egyptian regime, which would have changed after eight months in any case, after Mubarak announced that he would not run for the next presidential term.. They wanted to shake the republican regime in all Arab countries and support all monarchies And, surprisingly, claiming to advocate democracy.

Now, we are seeing the failure of Western democracy that has produced President Trump, and if he is elected to a second term, dictators will rejoice and kings will rejoice in American protection. And if the representative of the Democratic Party, which supports the Muslim Brotherhood, and who established the infrastructure for their rule with support and financing, and for their ISIS terrorist military wings, were elected, if they are elected, we will split again with American intervention, as we imagine in supporting the religious-political alliance.

America calls for democracy and supports the Jewish-Zionist religious state and the religious state in Egypt, in a recurring philosophical and ethical contradiction, which means that we are between a rock and a hard place.

I said: You have led us intelligently among the events, but there is a difference between the peaceful demonstration that aims to record a position and bring about change and the practice of rioting, looting and sabotage, and if we compare what happened in Egypt in 2011 and what is currently happening in America, we will discover the extent of civilized, peaceful and respectful people Al-Masry, of course, there were some abuses – especially in light of the security chaos at the time – but they never reached what we see from some masses of the American people of organized looting of shops, attacks on their owners, and systematic destruction of public and private facilities, and this is a very important indication that

Civilization of peoples is not measured by the physical and social condition only, but the historical dimension and the factors that shape the people’s personality and how they are dealt with in times of crisis must be taken into account.

The young politician said: Is it possible for America to fall as a result of what is happening, as it happened to us?

I said: The United States is a mighty economic, civil and military empire, and you don’t think for a moment, its simply happening. I am confident that the imbalance in its system will be corrected and that the democratic building will correct itself through the layers of self-censorship of the system that preserve the American Constitution and do not change it on demand.

His colleague said: What about the European Union, will it fall and disintegrate after Britain’s withdrawal and the Covid-19 crisis?

I said: The European Union has grown through years of achieving common interests, economic, educational and social, and it is actually facing a setback. I see behind it also an American intervention that does not want any economic forces competing with it. And because the system was built from the base to the head, once again I see him correct his mistake, and get rid of the bureaucracy that accompanies the expansion of administrative systems..

The young man said: From my studies, doctor, the social imbalance will occur in Europe after 2050, when the number of Muslims and immigrants will reach close to half the population, and gradually the social and cultural structure of European society will be changed.

I said: It could happen, but I know that there are many research centers working on this subject to ensure the preservation of European culture and identity within a framework that accommodates potential demographic changes.

The young politician said: Back to the United States of America, why and the American people enjoy, as its president says, the best economic level, and until the start of the Covid-19 crisis, with the lowest unemployment rates, and it is the country that calls for freedom and one of the origins of democracy and the pioneer of the free economic system, why do people revolt in it? …I understand this happens about

Dana, but when the most powerful and richest country in the world … is incomprehensible?

I said: Every economic level the country rises to, and every luxury that citizens enjoy before it has new desires and higher aspirations.

When the ceiling of ambitions increases, the feeling of inadequacy increases. You will always find in any opinion poll that the most angry and resentful are the most educated and open to the world, because they want more, and the ceiling of their ambitions rises every day. The most satisfied with their condition are the ignorant and the poor, who are satisfied by any addition to their miserable conditions.. This is life, and this is the human being. No difference was it in America or Egypt.. Despotic regimes throughout history do not care about education and do not want to place themselves in front of the legitimate aspirations of the educated..and do not forget that the role of the state is to build capabilities and create opportunities.

Remember also that the relationship of leaders with their people is an important factor in people’s satisfaction with their conditions. I have in mind Trump’s position on most of the values of American society, since he began to act in the opposite of these values, in a free economy, in confronting differences of opinion, in lying to his people, in closing down and exiting from globalization, withdrawing from international organizations and behaving racistly against immigrants. Rather, building walls around a country that was the refuge and dream for all human beings and for the ancestors of this people themselves and the paradise of freedom. I imagine that this contradiction moved to people’s conscience and was reflected in their behavior.

However, I assure you that the American people are better than their political leaders who are leading the empire to a moral and ethical fall, but I am betting on this people and their great constitution to reform themselves.

I still believe in democracy, but I, along with others, in various places in the world, strive to create a new form of democracy that adapts local and global changes, respects the cultures of diverse peoples, and avoids repeated failures in its applications.
