Parliament elections and the modern civil state 2

My discussion with young people about the values of freedom, integrity and accountability aroused many readers, when I linked this to the Senate elections a few days ago, and the elections for the first chamber of Parliament weeks later… Just as my conversation with young people was free, my conversation with adults was intense. Young people were sometimes cruel to previous generations and blamed them for wasting their energy, and for placing the responsibility of poverty, ignorance and disease on the citizens and not on those who ran the system over the years.

The guys were tough but they had a right. The adults were more pessimistic, critical and negative.. This dialogue summarizes some ideas and gives lessons.

The young politician said: Will the elections for the House of Representatives be held, Doctor?

I said: I will not run in elections personally, but I lead a group of enthusiasts who would like to have a role in shaping the future of their country from the Union Party, which I founded in 2011. They have not polluted politically either with money or the madness of power to be the nucleus of a new generation in Parliament.

She said: Why don’t you go through their experience with them and guide them if they succeed? .. I know from my father, who was a parliamentarian, that you were the only one in the parliament from 2000 to 2005 who established an office of young people to help you in research, study and analysis of all the issues that were presented to the council, and that many Some of them are now in important positions in the state… and you used to send them on reciprocal missions to the US Congress and the English and French Parliament. I even know from my father that you were taking a number of them on your travels at your expense to study property rights law in Switzerland when the Education Committee you headed at the time was assigned to study and issue it.

I told her: Every time has its soldiers, and every time has its days.. Now I want to give you my experience and knowledge, and be an example for a politician who seeks the interest of his country without spoils for him. My only goal is for you to have a role in a framework of political pluralism, and to take a step towards a competitive future based on political integrity, and I seek to make the virtual political and social research center “Thoth Center”, which I established in 2019, a center that provides new members of Parliament with analyzes and research Through which they can build their political opinions knowingly, and knowingly decide the future of our beloved country.

The young woman said: What about the current elections and comparing them with the previous ones?

He always gave Einstein’s wise saying, for example, when he said: “It is not possible to do the same thing in the same way and wait for different results.” Well, it restricts liberties for fear of chaos and terrorism.. We all know what Egypt is currently subjected to in terms of interference and calls for demonstrations with the aim of undermining the country’s stability.

I take this opportunity to warn you not to confuse your desire to express yourselves freely with falling into the clutches of those who want to use the positive energy of youth and their desire for pride, dignity and freedom for demolition, not construction.

The young man replied, “How is that?”

I said: I believe in the movement of change based on knowledge, proposing alternatives, and putting forward ideas within the framework of legitimacy and within the scope of the law.. Revolutions, as we have experienced and lived, end in most times with the control of the most organized and most funded who ride on them and move them in their favour, and international intelligence and terrorist organizations interfere in them and end in political disasters We do not want to repeat what happened in January 2011, which began with all good intentions and ended with the rule of a political group that wanted to color the country in the color of fanaticism, and to keep us away from the modern civil state in which there is no confusion in its management between the religion that they claim ownership alone, the efficiency of the administration, the governance of institutions and citizenship .

The young politician said: Parliament elections are the only hope before us for the existence of a civil, constitutional mechanism to express society’s opinion and its natural differences. And if it is not allowed in these elections to produce a representation of these differences in the light of the parliamentary presence in front of everyone, then it will be expressed in the darkness of fear, which leads to an imbalance in the political balance.. Doctor, pluralism does exist between youth and citizens, and there must be a way to show this and not hide it.

Her colleague said: The experience of the Senate elections, and the fact that 54 million voters did not go to express their opinion should not go unnoticed. It is necessary to analyze the phenomenon and understand the nature of the intelligent Egyptian people who expressed their dissatisfaction with the boycott of voting.. Now we are walking in the same line in the same way in the Chamber elections The first of Parliament.

I said: I understand your concern, but I expect that the space for expression will expand in the upcoming elections, and here I am with my colleagues in the Union Parties, the Conservatives and some other parties. We are working on the formation of electoral lists that present the society with an alternative to what they think is the state party, and we do not find objection or even negative reactions to that. right Now. We work in the light, scrutinize choices, and register our presence as a parliamentary alternative in front of the people without interference. I am confident that Egypt’s political leadership understands the importance of opposition and accountability as long as it is within the limits of legitimacy and within the framework of the law.

The young politician said: What is the name of the list of this alliance that seems to me hopeful?

I said: We called it the “Free Choice” coalition.

Her colleague said: How will the electoral alliance take place if the ideologies of the allies differ?

I said: It is based on the points of agreement between them and announced.

He said: What are the points of agreement?

I said: Belief in the modern civil state with which the constitution began its preamble, and which was approved in its fifth article, which says: “We are now writing a constitution to complete the building of a modern democratic state, with a civil government.” Between powers and the balance between them, responsibility correlates with authority, and respect for human rights and freedoms, in the manner set out in the constitution.

This is the preamble to the constitution, and its fifth article, which was approved by the Egyptian people by an overwhelming majority in 2014 and was not attached to this preamble.

Nor is Article 5 amendments.. The constitution is our reference in managing and preserving Egypt, and it is the basis of any electoral or political alliance.

Young people, you are the hope of Egypt, and your future begins today and every day, so participate in creating it with positivity and participation by expressing your opinion. Do not stand idly by while waiting for the future to come to you according to your mood, you must make it and work for it.

Once again, our Egypt does not bear new tremors. We have to change within the framework of legitimacy, by building and offering alternatives, not by revolutions and demolition.. Egypt is the mother of civilizations, and the Egyptian people are alive with their civilizational genes, which appeared in the first three days of the January revolution, on 30/6, and at the end of July The people are the leaders, and we are nothing but its outputs.

My faith in you is real, because I see your pure metal, so do not be affected by calls for demolition, and let us join hands to build our worthy homeland.
