Scene of the future after the US elections
Hossam Badrawi
The young dreamer said: What are the challenges that will shape the future of humanity on our planet, Doctor?
I said: The world faces three main threats from my point of view: First: the war between America and China and two problems stem from it 1- The possibility of using nuclear and biological weapons, which might end life on the planet. 2- The fall of democratic trends and human rights in favor of controlling peoples and violating these rights under the pretext of China’s lack of respect for them and its economic superiority at the same time. Second: Artificial intelligence and technological development, which carries with it opportunity and adversity as a corollary. We do not know how man will use it before this intelligence controls its maker, and third: the collapse of the ecological balance as a result of global warming and the actions caused by humanity, which may destroy the Earth and those on it.
The young woman said: Give us an explanation!
I said: The use of nuclear weapons may cause a disaster, whether intentionally or by mistake. And because we have seen leaders, even in a democratic society, leading to racism and the extreme right, and behaving unilaterally with foolishness and without respect for humanity, this danger has already existed.
As for biological weapons, genetic modifications in viruses and their dissemination, whether this is proven or not, but it has become a reality through which countries accuse each other and there is no smoke without fire, as the Egyptian popular proverb says.
The apostasy comes in the concept of democracy as a political and social system, which was created by the enormous Chinese growth, within the framework of a dictatorial regime that does not respect human rights, and its threat to Western civilization, along with the dangerous American decline with racist right-wing authoritarianism, and its withdrawal from the international institutions and systems that it created in the beginning, and its decline by dismantling the foundations of His regime in his country, and his manipulation of the lives of the peoples of the world with orchestrated revolutions, which led to either a fanatical religious rule or an authoritarian military alternative, both of which do not respect human rights under the pretext of fighting terrorism or the desire for stability.
As for global warming, we are rapidly heading toward a point of no return. Were it not for the halting of life in the way it was going, due to the Covid-19 crisis… humanity would have reached a point that threatens the future of the planet, and even if it manages to survive, it will remain under conditions that make life difficult with it.
Unfortunately, the world’s masters now are not countries, but leaders who control countries, and they may be reckless, fanatic groups and interests, investment institutions, multinational companies and other parties that exert pressure on countries to preserve their interests at the expense of the future.
The attentive young woman said: What about the scene of the American elections, and their impact on the world and on Egypt in particular?
And her colleague went on to say: We know that President Trump was what he was, and we know that he gave Israel what she did not dream of in absolute support, but it appears that he was a friend of Egypt, and that the Democratic administration of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, along with President-elect Biden, was behind the Arab Spring revolutions. And the chaos that occurred in the country, and they were supporters of the idea of what they think of moderate political Islam, and they worked and supported the Muslim Brotherhood group to take over the rule of Egypt, and that they were behind the establishment and financing of ISIS and other organizations whose existence we suffer from day after day.
I said: First, you must understand that all US administrations operate institutionally, and their performance may differ, but the foundations upon which their goals are built are the same.. And let me remind you that the idea of creative chaos was Condoleezza Rice, the Republican Secretary of State, and that one of the people who actually created chaos was Hillary Clinton, Obama’s Secretary of State, was the Democratic president.. I also remind you that those who destroyed Iraq with claims proven to be false were the Republicans, and that those who destroyed Syria were the Democrats..
There are many examples, throughout history, so I want you to be free from the idea that there are those who are our friends and who are our enemies in the American administrations in a sustainable way… There is no preference and they are all one in many ways.
All the formal positions of the different administrations depend on Egypt’s own strength and the extent of our influence on the region, Africa and the world.. and on the extent of our internal social and economic cohesion.. At any moment of our weakness, we will be dispensed with and even abused, as happened with many countries around us.. Let us wake up and wake up. America’s dealings with us will depend on us, not on them…On our strength and weakness, on our cohesion and disintegration, on our influence or lack thereof on the region.
The first young woman said: What can we do to be strong so that our respect will increase, and how?
I said: This is the question, and this is the seriousness.. There are many important strategic directions that we must follow in a sustainable manner, efficient performance, and effective control, and I will mention them to you. But as we say in medicine, there are things that, if they are not present in the treatment, will not be cured.. They are the priorities of building strong nations, and the cornerstone of Egypt’s strength and sustainability.
I believe first that civilization and its sustainability can only be built by free people, and that respecting the freedom of the Egyptian citizen to express himself and his security and safety within the framework of prompt, non-selective justice, and law enforcement authorities that are not motivated by political whims, are the backbone of our self-respect and the world’s respect for us.
Synonymous with this is the competent governments that work to build the human being from the entrance of education, learning and culture within a framework that does not allow retreat, waiver or political deals. Our population increase means 40 million new people in just two decades, and what a force and what a disgrace it is if we do not commit to it.
Thirdly, there is the peaceful transfer of political power that ensures the sustainability of development with all the foundations that this includes, which we all know.
However, it goes hand in hand with the separation and balance of powers, and the limitation of the tyranny of any executive authority, no matter how well-intentioned it is. By that I mean parliament, the judiciary and the media.
This coincides with the clear choice of the civil state without complicity or compromise, including the separation of religion
About running the country and respecting citizenship and the beliefs of all citizens and their equal rights.
I believe that the Egyptian culture, which is undergoing a challenge that descends to the level of its secretions, needs an intervention that raises the status of artistic production, publishing and the media, and all the entrances to this culture, and it is what may enlighten our country’s path to positive influence in Arab countries and Africa.
The young woman said again: Can Egypt return as a platform for enlightenment and a source of civilization?
I said: I am sure of the capabilities of the Egyptian youth, and the experience of their elders.. the issue is in managing these great human resources and developing them seriously and without fear..
The Egypt that any US administration would respect is the strong Egypt from within, which respects the rights of its citizens not out of fear of international scrutiny, but because that is its approach and belief. An Egypt that builds its generations on freedom that is synonymous with respect for the law.. an Egypt that issues its laws out of respect for its constitution and not for the benefit of a group here or there.
A strong Egypt internally, its strength stems from its pluralism that respects the difference of its members.. A strong Egypt is built by the free, educated, and led by the competent who are held accountable by the people, and in it the power is transferred peacefully, and the experiences are accumulated in it.
Guys, I don’t care about Trump or Biden, they are both sides of the same coin… I care about the source of our strength, which is the Egyptian people, and we have to work to be a maker of civilization, a development of culture and a host to humanity.
