The sin of joy and the sin of happiness

In an interview with the youth of the Association of Dreamers of Tomorrow, a young man said, commenting on the story of the volunteer teacher who was attacked by social media hyenas because she danced on a journey: Have we become a bleak and evil society that enjoys embracing others, then social media gave him a new way to do this from behind a curtain, and they became more Evil and harm to others?!
His colleague said: The Egyptians are known for their wit, jokes, and their ability to spread joy, regardless of their social classes. What happened to us, Doctor?!.
Another young man added: In recent decades, with the growth and overlap of a strict culture of frowns in people’s conscience, laughter has become a mockery and joy a shame. Isn’t that worthy of study and research?!.
I said: There is a collective mind in society, which is created by the sum of positive or negative energy in it, and stimulated by education, media and the arts, which puts a great responsibility on the leaders of society, because they are the makers of this climate and the facilitators of its existence.
The glimpse young woman said: Is it the duty of governments to get people out of this negative climate and make people happy?!.
I said: This is the primary function of governments, my daughter, if you know.. the leaders of society should think positively about the welfare and happiness of individuals. Politics cannot be mere promises or projects.. In the end, if prosperity is not achieved, and if the people are not happy, then the politicians have failed. The policy failed.
Another young woman said: What is the meaning of happiness? Does happiness have a definition? Can it be measured?
I said: First, joy is a beautiful momentary emotion that draws a smile on the face when seeing something, such as beautiful colors in a painting or a wonderful scene, or hearing sweet words, a song, or music that spreads a beautiful feeling in your heart and makes you move with its tones, so you dance joyfully.
Music and dance are a joy, and a group of people share in the joy together as we see in the celebrations of Latin America or the West and the Far East contagious to health.
As for happiness, it is a constant feeling of contentment that makes you a better and superior human being.
For the record, the chemistry of happiness is different from the chemistry of pleasure.
Pleasure is short-term and dopamine-related, while happiness is long-term and linked to serotonin.
They are two different cases.
Pleasure is sensual, but happiness is emotional, psychological and mental.
Pleasure, including sex and the moment of winning or getting money, can be part of a greater, broader and more comprehensive happiness, but it is not happiness in itself.
We can buy pleasure, but we cannot buy happiness. Pleasure can turn into addiction, but happiness is a health condition that makes a person better and sees favor in others.
The two differ from joy, which is a temporary happiness of seeing or hearing something, or a movement that takes a person away from today’s problems and life’s troubles.
Be happy, my children, and sing and dance and fill your souls with joy, and enjoy what does not harm your physical and mental health, and respect the privacy of others, and do not judge or judge others because they are joyful and happy. Happiness and joy need neither self-defense nor justification for others.
The first young man said: How do you explain the society’s attack on a person who sang and danced on a boat trip, which we all do on every trip, so she became a criminal outcast even from her family?!
I said: I see around me in society – unfortunately – those who see joy as a sin, and those who see the happiness of others as a decrease in it, and those who spread evil and frustration just because they do not see beauty and do not respect those who seek pleasure, and interfere in the affairs of others to denounce their joy and prevent their happiness.
These, my children, are cancerous cells in the human body. We must not allow them to control society and spread their blackness on the beautiful humanity that God created and created us.
I enjoyed a video posted by Professor Nihad Abu al-Qumsan, a respected human rights advocate, on this subject, and she explained it with courtesy and knowledge. She added to me that the number of those who supported her in defending this woman were hundreds of thousands, and the number of those who attacked her were only tens. Sometimes evil creates a feeling that it is a trend and takes over the crowd, as in the demonstrations that create violence, sometimes practiced by those who participate in the demonstration, abandoning its reality because it is within the group and is protected by them. And these same demonstrations can be transformed into joy, dance, and singing, and become peaceful, moving and enjoyed by the same people.
Crowds, whether in the social media or in the street, are led by people to achieve goals, and they create an impressionistic reality, which becomes a reality without proof.. After a while, it represents intellectual terrorism on society if it deviates from its approach. Do not be deceived and think that everyone is with or against the apparent moment.
The smart young woman said: Are there proven theories about what you are saying?
I said: Gustave Lebon, the French sociologist and anthropologist, had worked in 1895 on the study of the collective mind of the crowd, and explained the existence of a new entity arising from the amalgamation of people together, where they are together a magnetic field arises from the combination or for other reasons such as “identification”, which is the identification of behavior The individual becomes a part of the collective formation, which seizes from each individual in the group his opinions, beliefs and personal values.
As he said in one of his sayings: “The individual in the crowd is a grain of sand in the midst of others, moved by the wind among the other grains of sand.”
Libon spoke in detail about 3 main processes that affect crowd behavior: (anonymity, revelation, and contagion).
“Anonymity” gives a feeling of losing personal responsibility, and the person becomes more primitive, emotional, and unrestrained, and gives him a feeling of invincibility.
And “contagion” means the spread of a certain behavior during the crowd, such as riots, such as: breaking windows and throwing stones.. a person takes the initiative and others follow him.
“Suggestion” is the mechanism through which infection is transmitted. Strong chants make the unconscious racist, and the crowd becomes homogeneous, flexible, and receptive to the suggestions of its most powerful members.. Those who lead the march, crowd, or demonstration can, with their loud voice, lead and direct the group, and these are now trained. And the path of any large demonstration or social media trend can be largely predetermined
