Dr. Badrawi gives a lecture entitled “The Egypt of the Future as I See It” at the Dr. Ahmed Okasha

“Egypt the Future as I See It” is the title of the lecture given by the great thinker and politician Prof. Dr. Hossam Badrawi today, Thursday, June 15, 2023, as part of the activities of the lecture (twenty-sixth year) and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Okasha Award, which is organized by the Middle East Journal of Contemporary Psychiatry at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Tariq Okasha, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Okasha, where he welcomed Dr. Tariq Okasha attended the audience, then presented a historical overview of the magazine’s activity, his career in the magazine, and how its activity transformed from the local field to the international field. Ahmed Okasha, presented by Dr. Hossam Badrawi, where he gave a quick presentation of his cultural, literary, artistic and social career
Dr. Badrawi began his lecture by asking a question that ignites curiosity and stirs minds about the form of life in the near future and how do we see it?! .. And he answered that many may look forward to the future with pessimism, and some may not care, but the future Egypt is part of the future of the world, then Dr. pointed out. Badrawi said that his lecture is based on several pillars: – Egypt in time, now and tomorrow – The future of Egypt as part of the future of science and the world – Egypt is the future inspired by his hopes and imagination – The way to achieve this.
Dr. Badrawi asked, within the first pillar, about Egypt in the past, and how do we see it? Where he stressed that we will all see it from different angles, some will see it as soft power and figures of art and singing who exported Egypt as a gateway to art and sophistication, and some see it from the perspective of culture and literary figures who enriched the world with their writings, and others see it from a political perspective and remember the leaders of Egypt and its political leaders, and some see Egypt History and its great kings throughout the ages, and some will link Egypt to the journey of the Holy Family, and the country’s position on Christianity and its doctrinal difference with Rome and the emergence of Orthodoxy versus Catholicism, and they will also mention the impact of Egypt on Islam and its influence on the Islamic empire politically and religiously. Therefore, when we mention Egypt, you will always find us seeing it. Mother of the world
Dr. Badrawi then turned to Egypt today, pointing out that most of us see it as negative and backwards, which will only come to it through strict religious rule or authoritarian dictatorship.
On the Egypt of tomorrow, Dr. Badrawi asked the attendees a question, “Is Egypt able to participate in shaping the future of the world?! He added that the continuation of the pace of progress and innovation at speeds that are increasing day by day may lead us to an unimaginable future, such as the elimination of aging, the control of machines in the pace of life, the disappearance of jobs and the emergence of Others, and fundamental changes in the pattern of biological development of man … etc. Then Dr. Badrawi stressed that we all have to decide “Where will Egypt be from this and will we be participants or spectators?”
Regarding the dream, Dr. Badrawi asked questions
Does every citizen have a dream and can he express it? ,
Do we have a collective dream for the future of Egypt?
Does our nation have a dream that is being formulated in the hearts of our children now??
Then Dr. Badrawi explained that the dream differs from the feasibility study, as the dream has no ceiling that governs it and is not subject to the law of accounts. The dream may surprise us with results that exceed statistics.

Then Dr. Badrawi took us on a historical excursion about the development of life and how imagination was a reason for the emergence of the sane person who developed the form of life, and how the cycle of civilization took hundreds of years and how it did not take more than a few years in our time, then Dr. Badrawi stated that we have a human wealth that exceeds All wealth has its value if we prepare it well and pave the way in front of it.. and this is what we have now, but he also stated that human wealth can turn into a curse if it is neglected without sustainable development and left to randomness to lead it.
Badrawi then turns to Egypt’s wealth from a historical and civilizational stock, its unique location, its natural wealth, its soft power, its youth and its sheikhs, and Egypt’s golden opportunities in exploiting those wealth, which without a declared plan and sustainability in application will not be achieved, knowing that creativity and innovation only happen within a framework of freedom and get lost in it. The midst of chaos and disappears through repression and intellectual terrorism and fear
Then dr. Badrawi pointed out that the basis of all of this is the political system of government.. Politics is the gateway to achieving people’s happiness, fueling their full potential and increasing the nation’s strength.. He added that the ability to choose is the topic of the hour and that the job of adults is to light the way for our youth, and he expressed his fear and concern that we might lose the most important Our treasures (our children and youth), whether by extremism in thought, reactionary behavior, or the absence of values through the persistence of political and social repression, and the unacceptable decline in the level of education, whatever our material achievements and whatever the development of the world around us.
Then Dr. Badrawi finished by saying:
“I see the people of Egypt as the future, happy and friendly… I see our children and youth inventive and creative freely. I see the people of Egypt living extended in its geography, enduring its deserts, preserving its heritage..
I see the end of poverty, of wealth and of intellect, and the re-flowering of art. I see music in the clean streets, tourism is thriving, and I see Egypt integrated with Africa and the world…
I see the youth of Egypt possessing hope, aspiring for happiness, using the technologies of the age, and wrapping themselves in the values of freedom, honesty, honesty, integrity, accuracy, competence, tolerance, and citizenship, adhering to truth, beauty, and respect for others who are different.
Can my dream come true!!!
I may appear to some to be naive or seeking utopia when I say that, but I am a man of optimistic genes, and I see in people the best in them and I see the beauty around me. It is not because I fail to see ugliness and evil, but this is my free will…and I know that people rise to the level of what others think of them.
What do we need….?????
We need greater efficiency in managing the state, competence that should not be compromised, selection for the best, periodic renewal of blood, respect for science and scholars, and raising the ceiling of dreams.”
In the end, Dr. Hossam received an honorary award, followed by receiving the award of Dr. Ahmed Okasha for the winner. The meeting ended with the joy and pleasure of the attendees, and an exchange of memorial photos.
