Dr. Hossam Badrawi attends a symposium entitled The Future of Education, Work and Employment

Under the title “The Future of Education, Work, and Employment: Preparing Human Capital in Egypt to Make a Transformative Impact,” Dr. Hossam attended today, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the invitation of the American Chamber of Commerce and the Education for Employment Foundation (EFE). Badrawy, in his capacity as President of the Badrawy Foundation for Education and Development, held a panel discussion on this topic with the participation of: Dr. Ahmed Galal, former Minister of Finance, Dr. Pekka Kosonen, Ambassador of the Embassy of Finland, Professor Dalia Ibrahim, President and CEO of Nahdet Misr Publishing House, and Dr. Sherif Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Management. Business American University in Cairo.
The discussion revolved around what the technological revolution has brought about in various fields of work, its current and future impact, how this will be reflected in the educational process, and the challenges facing the progress of the educational process. Dr. Badrawi commented that despite the tremendous technological progress that is occurring, our education system He was also not affected by the new data. Despite the existence of a declared vision and strategy, he does not see an impact on the ground, and this impact will not exist unless the political will is available to achieve it, as Kosonen, the Finnish ambassador, stated that without education, no one will advance. Society explained that obtaining an academic degree is not the end, but it is necessary for young people to be aware that education is a continuous process that does not stop, and this is what helps progress and continuity. Then, Professor Dalia Ibrahim commented that there must be a system of social and behavioral rehabilitation and training for young people first. And to those in charge of it, because education is an integrated process. She also commented that approximately 29 million will be forced to change their jobs in the future, but alternative opportunities will appear that young people must have the willingness and ability to integrate into. Dr. Ahmed Galal also added that despite the belief Many believe that machines will replace humans, but he believes that this is unlikely to happen and that they will constitute a great benefit in the future. He also added that education is a process based on a number of pillars that will not exist without any of them, and everyone should cooperate to reform and advance it, and he sees it from his perspective. If male and female teachers are motivated to teach inside the classroom more than outside it, this will make a difference. Finally, Dr. Badrawi stated that there are three job destroyers: –
1- Weakness of the economy
2- Lack of supplies
3- Increasing the burden of living
Therefore, we are not talking about education only (we need more than a million job opportunities every year), but rather we are talking about building a strong economy, as most university graduates leave the country in search of better opportunities outside it, so education needs an integrated system. He added that public education is the essence, so we have more Of the 30 million children learning in it, if we start with them, the future of the nation will change for the better
The meeting ended with everyone approving the outcomes of this meeting. Then the attendees gathered around Dr. Hossam Badrawy to take souvenir photos with him in enthusiasm and joy.

About Dr. Hossam Badrawi

Dr. Hossam Badrawi
He is a politician, intellect, and prominent physician. He is the former head of the Gynecology Department, Faculty of Medicine Cairo University. He conducted his post graduate studies from 1979 till 1981 in the United States. He was elected as a member of the Egyptian Parliament and chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the Parliament from 2000 till 2005. As a politician, Dr. Hossam Badrawi was known for his independent stances. His integrity won the consensus of all people from various political trends. During the era of former president Hosni Mubarak he was called The Rationalist in the National Democratic Party NDP because his political calls and demands were consistent to a great extent with calls for political and democratic reform in Egypt. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court. Dr. Hossam supported the Tamarod movement in its beginning and he declared that toppling the Brotherhood was a must and a pressing risk that had to be taken few months prior to the June 30 revolution and confirmed that the army would support the legitimacy given by the people
