Dr. Hossam Badrawi Attends the Launch of the “Dars” Educational Program at the Invitation of BBC
On Monday, February 10, 2025, Dr. Hossam Badrawi participated in the launch of the “Dars” educational program, part of BBC World Service, at the Cairo Opera House.
“Dars” is an award-winning program from BBC World Service that supports the education of children aged 11 to 16. It is designed for children who have been deprived of access to education due to conflicts and wars.
Since 2023, “Dars” has been providing free educational services to millions of children in Afghanistan through BBC News Afghanistan, broadcasting in both Pashto and Dari. Today, the program expands its reach to include BBC News Arabic, offering free educational resources to children who have been cut off from education across the Middle East.
The event featured a presentation on the origins of the “Dars” program and an introduction to its new expansion. A panel discussion, including a distinguished group of experts, explored possible solutions to the education crisis affecting young people in conflict zones.
A large number of prominent figures from various sectors, including experts and public figures, attended the event.
Dr. Hossam Badrawi expressed his happiness and gratitude to the organizers of the program’s launch, wishing them success in this noble initiative.
The evening was hosted by the BBC News Arabic team and Fiona Crack, Deputy Director of BBC World Service.
