At the invitation of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, in his capacity as Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Bridges Initiative to implement Egypt’s Vision 2030 in one of the governorates (Ismailia) – and Dr. Salma Al-Bakri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Education First for the government and civil society to participate in the opening ceremony of the conference of civil society institutions supporting education in Egypt and signing the protocol of the “Bridges” initiative to support education, everyone established the fact that civil society is the main driver and supporter in many development files, the most important of which is education. .
In celebration of ten years of achievement in Education First, the meeting was a combination of the achievement review and the Future Initiative coordinated and managed by Dr. Mahmoud Hamza, the meeting engineer.
– The ceremony was opened by Dr. Salma Al-Bakri, who praised the role of civil society, which always supports the country, and presented a quick presentation of the achievements of the Education First Foundation in raising the professional efficiency of teachers and administrations of experimental schools, which number 1,000 schools, and the sub-programs that emerged from the Education First program. She then announced the Bridges Initiative to support education in Ismailia Governorate, and presented the most important axes on which the initiative is based and its goals. – Then came Dr. Badrawi’s speech at the opening, where he explained the country’s vision in education and why Ismailia Governorate and the philosophy of the Bridges Initiative, stressing that the biggest challenge is always the challenge of implementation and sustainability and the importance of restoring society’s confidence in the possibility of achieving our goals. He explained that the philosophy adopted by civil society organizations and institutions is to achieve a tangible impact and an effective embarrassment in which the achievement appears.
Then Dr. Badrawi concluded his speech by saying that the children of Egypt are better than we think and are ready to achieve the impossible. He then called on everyone to rally around the Bridges Initiative and support it to be a launch that can be repeated in every governorate. • Ambassador Nabila Makram, CEO of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, stated that the challenges are many, and these challenges are not fixed, but rather develop over time. She stated that the state alone cannot implement the vision, but rather the entire society, and then she praised the size of this initiative in which a large group of civil society institutions participate. • Eng. Mohamed Zaki El-Sweedy, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, stated that Egypt is full of clowns and geniuses, and all they need is to be given the opportunity, and they have already proven themselves in many countries when they had the opportunity. He also pointed out the importance of having an international accreditation body for technical education, which, if found, will greatly reduce illegal immigration. He explained that his experience in establishing industrial technical schools is his most important achievement. • Minister Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, expressed her happiness to participate in this distinguished opening, then expressed her desire to Eng. Mohamed Zaki El-Sweedy to have a kindergarten in every factory to support working Egyptian women. Then she pointed to Major General Pilot Akram Mohamed Galal, Governor of Ismailia, explaining that all eyes will be on him in the coming period to know what he will do to make this initiative a success. Then she expressed her full support for the Bridges Initiative, hoping that this initiative will not be limited to one governorate, as she addressed Dr. Badrawy, calling for the initiative to extend to another governorate in addition to Ismailia. She also expressed her thanks and gratitude for the efforts that Dr. Badrawi has been exerting efforts in the education file for many years and she concluded her speech by thanking Dr. Salma Al-Bakri and all those in charge of the “Bridges” initiative, wishing them success and guidance.
• Major General Pilot Akram Mohamed Galal, Governor of Ismailia, expressed his happiness when he received a phone call from Dr. Badrawi to inform him of the initiative and the selection of Ismailia Governorate to implement it, as he confirmed that he will remove all obstacles to make “Bridges” a success, and thanked those in charge of the initiative and all civil work institutions that always support the state, government and people. At the end of the opening session, the Bridges Initiative Protocol was signed between the civil society institutions that own the initiative, which are: –

Under the auspices and support of Ismailia Governorate, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Solidarity, the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, and the National Planning Institute, headed by Dr. Ashraf Al-Arabi, the engineer of the Egypt Vision 2030 initiative and its coordinator when he was Minister of Planning in 2015.
It is worth noting that the project aims to develop education in the city of Ismailia by raising the professional and educational competencies of workers in the public education sector from kindergarten to the end of basic education in the governorate, and the project is based on the philosophy of Egypt Vision 2030.
