Dr. Hossam Badrawi celebrates with the families of the October War martyrs and representatives of political parties on the occasion of the October War

Photos of the October Victory celebration in Alexandria with Dr. Hossam Badrawi, where Dr. Hossam celebrated with the families of the martyrs of the October War and representatives of political parties and gave a moving speech about the heroes of October and the attendees participated in his celebration and their celebration of the families of the martyrs. The host of the invitation was the Secretary-General of the Union Party in Alexandria, Mr. Saad El Gamal and members of the party’s secretariat, which Dr. Hossam established in 2011 to be a platform for social liberalism. Representatives of political parties attended, especially the Justice Party, which shares Dr. Hossam’s vision of social liberalism and his call for the unity of the nation as an honest opposition that builds and does not destroy, which is what Dr. Hossam Badrawi referred to in his speech about the lessons learned from the defeat of 67, which had it not been for the cohesion of the people with their armed forces, the October victory would not have been. From the sayings of Dr. Hossam: The results of the war battle are known by those who imposed their will on the other. In 1956, Egypt imposed its will on England, France and Israel, and each country used its armies and diplomacy to achieve the purpose. At the end of the war, Egypt imposed its control over the Suez Canal and regained Sinai, so the result of the war was a victory for Egypt, and the resignation of the British Prime Minister.

As for 73, we basically believed, and the whole world confirms, the impossibility of crossing the Suez Canal and penetrating the Bar Lev Line, which was considered at the time the strongest defense lines in the history of world war, with the technological and strategic superiority of Israeli aviation. The world believed that this was a final situation that would not change.

What happened in the end was the crossing of our forces with organization and wise leadership, changing the stable military situation, then negotiating from a position of strength and not defeat.. All that happened after that was the opening of the Suez Canal for international navigation, the return of the displaced people of Port Said, Ismailia and Suez, and the restoration of Sinai.

The October War was part of an integrated strategy to restore dignity and land, with military action in harmony with diplomatic and legal action to recover the last point in Taba, and Sinai became completely in Egypt’s possession once again.
Don’t let the frustrated people who only see defeat transfer their negative energy to you. Egypt won, in war and negotiations in October 73, and we changed a geographical and historical reality that could have become sustainable until now.

About Dr. Hossam Badrawi

Dr. Hossam Badrawi
He is a politician, intellect, and prominent physician. He is the former head of the Gynecology Department, Faculty of Medicine Cairo University. He conducted his post graduate studies from 1979 till 1981 in the United States. He was elected as a member of the Egyptian Parliament and chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the Parliament from 2000 till 2005. As a politician, Dr. Hossam Badrawi was known for his independent stances. His integrity won the consensus of all people from various political trends. During the era of former president Hosni Mubarak he was called The Rationalist in the National Democratic Party NDP because his political calls and demands were consistent to a great extent with calls for political and democratic reform in Egypt. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court. Dr. Hossam supported the Tamarod movement in its beginning and he declared that toppling the Brotherhood was a must and a pressing risk that had to be taken few months prior to the June 30 revolution and confirmed that the army would support the legitimacy given by the people
