Dr. Hossam Badrawi participates in a symposium entitled “Man and Nature” at the Human Construction and Development Foundation

Man and Nature is the title of the symposium that was held today, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Human Construction and Development Foundation, in which Dr. Hossam Badrawi participated at the invitation of Dr. Adel El-Beltagy, Vice President of the Foundation and President of the International Drylands Development Foundation and the main speaker at the symposium, where he presented a scientific vision and a future outlook on climate change. He talked about Egypt’s situation in this crisis, and the displacement of millions in the event of a rise in water levels in the delta lands, as well as the negative effects that will affect the marine reefs to which the lives of many aquatic organisms are linked. Then he talked about the effects of high temperatures on food, its scarcity, and its transformations. On crops and on humans, this will double the rates of migration and refugees. Dr. Adel El-Beltagy drew attention to the fact that there are many things that we should all prepare for in terms of preparedness, training, educating, preparing cadres, and enacting legislation to protect agriculture in Egypt and rationalize water consumption.
Between Dr. Adel El-Beltagy said that there is a vision for agriculture in Egypt, research centers at the international level, and strategies that have been developed but have not been implemented.
How much information did Dr. provide? Al-Beltagy and the possibilities for the future were great and valuable, and we will try in another post to summarize it for the friends of the page
The symposium was well received by all
Then Dr. Hossam Badrawy commented after the end of the lecture that he was happy to be invited to this meeting and expressed his happiness with what he heard from Dr. Adel El-Beltagy. Dr. Hossam Badrawy said that what stopped him during the lecture was the phrase political will and that he said the same thing and called for it in his struggle to reform education and stated that Management is responsible for the success of development, avoiding risks and preparing for them
Dr. pointed out Badrawi stressed the importance of building the mind and conscience of young people, educating and training them, because the focus of success is human development.
What was presented by Dr. Al-Beltagy in agriculture, scientific research, and the use of science and not completing construction with every change is the main obstacle in development.
Sustainability, institutionalization of work, peaceful transfer of political power without revolutions or coups, and efficient state administration is the only means to sustainability. Without that, Egypt will continue to revolve in vicious circles and start again after every change.

About Dr. Hossam Badrawi

Dr. Hossam Badrawi
He is a politician, intellect, and prominent physician. He is the former head of the Gynecology Department, Faculty of Medicine Cairo University. He conducted his post graduate studies from 1979 till 1981 in the United States. He was elected as a member of the Egyptian Parliament and chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the Parliament from 2000 till 2005. As a politician, Dr. Hossam Badrawi was known for his independent stances. His integrity won the consensus of all people from various political trends. During the era of former president Hosni Mubarak he was called The Rationalist in the National Democratic Party NDP because his political calls and demands were consistent to a great extent with calls for political and democratic reform in Egypt. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court. Dr. Hossam supported the Tamarod movement in its beginning and he declared that toppling the Brotherhood was a must and a pressing risk that had to be taken few months prior to the June 30 revolution and confirmed that the army would support the legitimacy given by the people
