“Egypt is a great country and deserves it.” – Hossam Badrawi

“Egypt is a great country and deserves it.”
Dr. Hossam Badrawi in Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper

Twelve years after January 2011, and after ten years of the revolution against the religious rule of the Brotherhood, and before them fifty years of the 1952 revolution….the same question arises: Is it possible to transfer power in Egypt within a legitimate constitutional framework as we dream and as approved by the constitution? Without death, coup, or revolution, and without interfering in favor of the ruling authority, pre-pressing or preventing the existence of alternatives, or insisting that the matter remain as it is, even if the integrated renaissance is not achieved for fear of chaos..
The answer is yes…and yes it can…
Because Egypt is great and carries the genes of an accumulated civilization, and its people, with all their apparent patience and servility, are capable of changing course at critical moments in history.
Egypt has a great human wealth in number and value, young in age, young people. This is a huge wealth capable of learning, training, acquiring knowledge and creating opportunities. This human wealth is a curse if we leave it to random growth without sustainable development, and a gift and opportunity if we prepare it well, which is what we can do and implement.

Building the self-confident Egyptian personality, proud of its past and present, and who has hope for its future in our hands, and one decade changes a lot..
This is Egypt’s latent strength, and Egypt’s hope in facing all challenges and using the opportunities and wealth that God has given us.

We have the largest historical stock of the world’s civilization, we only have to show it and benefit from it in terms of tourism and culture in order to generate unprecedented economic wealth, but we know that it will not come without services for visitors to Egypt and the efficiency of managing roads, airports, ports, and means of transportation by training human resources. ..

We have the most beautiful beaches of the White Sea in the north and the unparalleled beaches of the Red Sea in the east
We own the most important waterway on the globe, the “Suez Canal”, which connects the north with the south and the east with the west, dug by our ancestors with their blood, and it is the waterway that supports Egypt’s genius geographical position and could be the main development corridor in the country.

Egypt possesses a wealth of gas under its land and in the depths of its seas, which may be one of the entrances to our future economy, with limits that it has not reached before.

Egypt has mineral wealth in its lands, which are being discovered now, and we did not know of their existence before.
Egypt has the largest commercial market in the Middle East. Yes, the Egyptian market is a force that attracts investment and opens horizons, but we are incompetent and rare. We do not attract or develop this investment.

Egypt has a bright sun most of the year, well-known wind sources, and it can produce clean energy that suffices itself, and even suffices Europe.

Egypt has a soft power of art, culture and knowledge. We have to reopen the horizons for its launch and creativity again. Egypt’s soft power was the cause of its positive impact on those around it, and it still has the same capabilities if we lift the restrictions and remove the obstacles and censorship stifling freedom of creativity in front of it. ‏

Egypt possesses a civilized stock in the genes of its people, and latent capabilities in its youth and elders that do not need to be released except for freedom and respect for the law, and it needs to remove the rust from it through education, culture and the arts..

Egypt has one of the ten most powerful armies in the world, and it has well-trained armed forces, most of whose elements are highly educated. Egypt is strong militarily, and if it were not, it would have been a breeding ground for those threatening it, as happened around us in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya and Sudan. Choose the time and place. The lesson in people is behind the equipment, and I am confident that our armed forces possess these ingredients and capabilities and know their importance and usefulness.
So yes, we are militarily strong, but our armed forces should not be put in the face of the challenges of economic development and the challenges of running the country politically with all the risks involved, as we lose their value in protecting the country and supporting the people when the time comes.

My words are not slogans, but they are scientific and have a reference and methodology and can happen. Egypt is strong and will get stronger, and we must join hands to achieve this
The sustainability of the implementation of plans that must be announced, and have criteria that can be measured for their achievement, and that arise with the participation between the wisdom of experience, the energy of youth and the conscious leadership that can achieve this while listening to different opinions and presenting alternatives from experts .. Note that
Creativity and innovation do not happen except within a framework of freedom and get lost in the midst of chaos and disappear through oppression and intellectual terror and fear.

The basis of all of this is the political system of government.. Politics is the gateway to achieving the people’s happiness, empowering them with their capabilities, and increasing the strength of the nation..
And because the visions of the future for any nation are intertwined, it is not possible to look at the future Egypt in part, but rather our vision of reform must cover all its aspects at the same time.

Our first job is to build capacities and provide opportunities, and the success of the community management authority lies in leaving freedom to individuals to choose between multiple opportunities…with justice, integrity and equal rights. ‏

The ability to choose is the subject of the hour and the subject of the future. We can make every opportunity in front of us a problem and a crisis, and see and discover in every crisis that we face new opportunities that can be invested and developed through it, and this will depend on our efficient treatment of reality (competence). management of the country).

The desired reform shows its historical and future value when it becomes an activated reality, when it is implemented to show its impact on society, and just as ideas are renewed, the means must be renewed, and the spirit of reform in the new phase needs new mechanisms.
Einstein, the distinguished genius scientist in the history of science, said, “The difficult problems we face cannot be solved by applying the same intellectual approach that we used when finding such problems.”

The real wealth of Egypt, throughout history, is in its citizens, and the creation of civilization are the Egyptians, and those who started enlightenment in the modern era in the entire region of the Middle East are the Egyptians. The reactionary behavior or the absence of values with the persistence of political and social repression and the unacceptable decline in the level of education, regardless of our material achievements.

I do not conceal from you, dear reader, that I often see a defeatist spirit, a fear of merely expressing an opinion, a hesitation in presenting ideas, a lack of confidence in state institutions, and clouds of hope for the future.
I believe that this is untrue and unhealthy, and that our responsibility is to present ideas and give alternatives tirelessly, tirelessly, or fearlessly. ‏

As we chart our way, we must keep in mind that the political, social and technical situation in the twenty-first century seems like a landslide victory for the Western orientation towards liberalism, market capitalism and human rights in a battle that lasted nearly four decades after the Second World War against fascist and communist ideologies. ..But it appeared to us that Western liberalism, without the existence of the opposite, has turned into a wild beast that draws a new colonial map and suffers internally from existential crises, intersecting transformations, and a loss of credibility.
It seems to me that the revolutions of information technology and biotechnology are now the greatest challenges of the human race since its existence, and the greatest opportunity for it and for us at the same time.
It also seems to me that the possibilities of merging information technology and biotechnology, as I have read, heard and recently seen, may in the near future create a human with superhuman capabilities, with billions of people out of the labor markets, and a disturbing undermining of freedom and equality. ‏

Rather, this development, using artificial intelligence and big data algorithms, can create digital dictatorships that humans have not known before, with the concentration of power in the hands of small elites that transcend the traditional borders of states in their historical form, while most of the world’s citizens will suffer from exploitation or being thrown out. in trash bins. ‏
We need greater efficiency in managing the state, choosing the best, renewing blood periodically, and respecting science and scholars, for Egypt is great and deserves…..
