Titled “Egypt on My Mind,” Dr. Badrawi delivers a lecture during the activities of the 16th Gynecology Conference

“The Egypt on My Mind” is the title of the lecture delivered by the great thinker and politician, Prof. Dr. Hossam Badrawy, today, Thursday, November 16, 2023, as part of the activities of the sixteenth Gynecology Conference at the headquarters of the Kempinski Hotel, New Cairo, to which Dr. Osama Shawky, Director of the Gynecology Forum, was invited, where he attended. On the podium were Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Ghar, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cairo University, and Dr. Mostafa Al-Feki, former Director of the Library of Alexandria. Dr. Mostafa Al-Feki presented Dr. Hossam Badrawi, describing him as having combined the mentality of a scientist and a thinker, and this is a rare occurrence. He also indicated that he played many Important roles during the era of President Mubarak. He stated that Dr. Badrawi always had an independent opinion and everyone agreed on his integrity and love. He then praised his courageous stances when he went to President Hosni Mubarak during the revolution to ask him to leave power. He also held the secretariat of the National Party in difficult circumstances that the country was going through, and he added. He hoped that Dr. Badrawi would run for president after 2011 because he is a national figure who loves Egypt and is keen on its future and progress.
Dr. Badrawi began by welcoming the attendees and thanking Dr. Osama Shawqi for his effort in organizing this forum and calling for it. He then thanked Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Ghar and Dr. Mustafa Al-Feki for attending today. Dr. Badrawi opened his lecture by asking a question that ignites curiosity and moves minds about what life is like in… The near future and how do we see it?! He answered that many people may look at the future with pessimism and fear, and some may not care about the future, and all that matters to them is their present, but the Egypt of the future is part of the future of the world. Then Dr. pointed out. Badrawy said that he conducted many dialogues with employees of some companies, with those dreaming of tomorrow, and also with artificial intelligence. He said that his lecture is based on four pillars: – Egypt then, now and tomorrow – Egypt’s future as part of the future of science and the world – Egypt’s future is inspired by his hopes and imagination – the way to achieve this.
Within the first pillar, Dr. Badrawi asked about Egypt in the past and how do we see it? He stressed that we will all see it from different angles. Some will see it as soft power and the statures of art and singing that exported Egypt as a gateway to art and sophistication. Some will see it from the perspective of culture and literary figures who enriched the world with their writings. Others see it from a political perspective and remember Egypt’s leaders and political leaders. Some see it as Egypt. History and its great kings throughout the ages, and some will link Egypt to the journey of the Holy Family, the country’s position on Christianity and its doctrinal difference with Rome, and the emergence of Orthodoxy versus Catholicism, and they will also mention Egypt’s impact on Islam and its influence on the Islamic empire politically and religiously… Therefore, when we mention Egypt, we always see it.” “Mother of the world”
Dr. Badrawi then moved to Egypt today, pointing out that most of us see it as a negative, backwards vision. Most of its youth want to emigrate in search of wealth in the East or in pursuit of academic status in the West, and we must prepare our youth and give them hope that tomorrow we will provide them with opportunities.
Concerning Egypt of Tomorrow, Dr. Badrawy asked the attendees, “Is Egypt able to participate in shaping the future of the world?” Dr. Badrawy stated that the future is coming quickly and we will not be able to escape from it. Then Dr. Badrawy stressed that we all have to decide, “Where will Egypt be in this and will we be participants or spectators?” ? Will we be producers or just users?” He added that the continuation of the pace of progress and innovation at a speed that increases day after day may lead us to an unimaginable future, such as the elimination of aging, vertical agriculture, machines controlling the pace of life, the disappearance of jobs and the emergence of others, and fundamental changes in The pattern of human biological development…etc.,
Dr. Hossam Ali expressed that he sees an existential battle in which we may or may not be.
Regarding the dream, Dr. Badrawi said that people see it as overly optimistic, others see that the dreamer is absent, and others see that the dream is similar to a feasibility study.
Then Dr. Badrawi explained that a dream is different from a feasibility study, as the dream has no ceiling to govern it and is not subject to the law of calculations. The dream may surprise us with results that exceed the statistics. Then he asked:
-Does every citizen have a dream and can he express it? ,
– Do we have a collective dream for Egypt’s future? Where the philosopher Luban said that the collective mind can create positive energy and it can create negative energy, and by returning to quantum physics it becomes clear to us that everything in the universe is energy, and society can make its energy a creator of superiority.
Then Dr. Badrawi asked where we find those who dream and have dreams, and he answered, “Definitely, young people and children!!
-Does our nation have a dream that is being shaped in the minds of our children now??…
-Do we have collective values? Badrawi then replied that this mission should be a priority for educational, cultural and media institutions
Badrawi then moved to Egypt’s wealth, as it has the largest historical and cultural reserve and has more than forty percent of its youth under the age of 45. Egypt has the Suez Canal, its unique location, its natural wealth, its soft power, its youth and its elderly, and Egypt’s golden opportunities in exploiting those wealth, which exist without a declared and sustainable plan. In application, it will not be achieved, knowing that creativity and innovation only occur within a framework of freedom and get lost in the midst of chaos and disappear through oppression, intellectual terrorism and fear.
Then Dr. pointed out. Badrawi said that the basis of all of this is the political system of government. Politics is the gateway to achieving people’s happiness, igniting their full potential, and increasing the strength of the nation. He added that the ability to choose is the topic of the hour and that the job of adults is to light the way for our youth. He expressed his fear and concern that we will lose the most important thing. Our treasures (our children and youth) whether due to extremism in thought, reactionary behavior, or the absence of values, continued political and social repression, and the unacceptable decline in the level of education, no matter our material achievements and no matter the development of the world around us.

Then Dr. Badrawi finished by saying:
“I see the people of Egypt as a happy and friendly future…I see our children and youth as innovators and creatives with freedom. I see the people of Egypt living across its geography, perpetuating its deserts, preserving its heritage…
I see the end of poverty, in wealth and in thought, and the re-flowering of art. I see music in the clean streets, tourism is thriving, and I see Egypt integrated with Africa and the world…
I see the youth of Egypt as possessing hope, aspiring to happiness, using modern technologies and adhering to the values of freedom, honesty, trustworthiness, integrity, precision, competence, tolerance, and citizenship, adhering to truth, beauty, and respect for the different other.
Is my dream possible to achieve!!!
I may appear to some to be naive or seeking a utopia for saying that, but I am a man of optimistic genes, and I see the best in people, and I actually see beauty around me. This is not due to a deficiency in seeing ugliness and evil, but this is my free will… and I know that people rise to the level of what others think of them.
What do we need….?????
We need greater efficiency in managing the state, efficiency that must not be compromised, choosing the best, periodically renewing blood, respecting science and scholars, and raising the ceiling of dreams.”
In the end, the doctor attended Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Ghar’s lecture entitled “Secrets Unrecorded by History” about Egyptian peasants in the English army, an interesting history, and interesting information that the audience was hearing for the first time. Then Dr. Hossam Badrawi and Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Ghar left after entertaining the attendees with a unique brainstorming and information. Ghaniya was welcomed and applauded by the attendees, then the attendees gathered around Dr. Badrawi to take memorial shots with him in an atmosphere full of love and respect.
