We, artificial intelligence and poverty

I participated in an international conference in New York as a speaker in its first session to achieve the seventeen goals of the United Nations and focus on eliminating poverty a few days ago.
In my speech, I discussed how a comprehensive approach based on artificial intelligence can be influential in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, with the risks and opportunities this represents for human well-being.
While AI holds promise for societal progress and poverty alleviation, its prevalent use in warfare and surveillance raises concerns. To prevent potentially catastrophic outcomes, technologies that rely on AI should be governed by critical ethical rules.
Human strength and intelligence once dominated human life, as well as the ability to adapt to new things that characterizes humans, and as our world changes, this ability will be more important than ever.
Everything in the universe and life works according to a precise and strict system, and with the expansion of human understanding throughout history and the decoding of this cosmic and terrestrial system, and the human acquisition of knowledge and awareness of the reasons for the occurrence of things, our ability to predict and extrapolate has improved, and this in turn has enhanced the human ability to control, adapt and deal with… What will happen.
We have to realize meanings that we think are understood by the general public, but they are not. Two examples I will mention here are the difference between reaction and proactive action. (reactive vs proactive)
The second is the difference between regular computing, no matter how advanced it is, and artificial intelligence.
The basic difference between reactive behavior and proactive behavior lies in how you respond to situations and events. Reactive behavior focuses on confronting challenges after they appear.
This approach often involves short-term decisions without considering the long-term impact and focuses on the current situation.
Proactive behavior depends on anticipation, preparation, and taking action before situations occur. It is behavior directed toward seizing possible opportunities and avoiding problems before they occur. It may even participate in creating the event itself.
The second issue is the difference between the concept of regular computing, no matter how powerful it is, and artificial intelligence.

Ordinary computing, also known as classical computing, has taken time for many people to understand, and relies on a specific set of instructions or algorithms to perform tasks but the same input will always produce the same output. Examples include basic arithmetic operations, data processing tasks, and software applications that do not learn from data but operate within their programmed capabilities.
Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, refers to the development of systems that can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.
Unlike regular computing, AI systems are designed to improve their performance over time by learning from the data they process, and this is achieved through techniques such as machine learning and deep learning.
Traditional computing cannot learn from data; It requires explicit programming for each task. As for artificial intelligence, it can improve its performance over time without the need for explicit programming for each task.
Artificial intelligence, especially systems designed with neural networks, can deal with ambiguous or complex problems with a degree of flexibility similar to human thought processes but greater in depth, speed, and analysis.
In short, AI goes beyond the classical boundaries of computing, aiming to mimic human intelligence by learning from data and experiences, making it better for tasks that require adaptation, interpretation, and autonomous decision-making.
From my point of view, AI represents a tremendous opportunity for development and service to humanity, and nothing can stand in its way except those who are skeptics and those against evolution, who will try to hinder its use, just as they have tried throughout history to stand against the use of reason and thinking, and stand at the station of those who preceded us in the childhood stage of humanity, to become unable to adapt to… Variables start late and become at the tail end of events or in the dustbin of evolution.
In the era of AI, everyone starts from the same line, and the opportunity is available to be on the same page as humanity at the same moment, and our children and youth do not need to cross a knowledge gap that will expand at a terrible speed in the coming years, months, or days.
We realize the dual nature of AI
A double-edged sword. The Internet, once a new technology, has faced a similar division and controversy in the last century… However, it has revolutionized communications, commerce and education, but it has also generated challenges such as cybercrime *and echo chambers*
It’s not a question of whether AI is inherently good or bad, but how it will be harnessed, for or against humanity.
The ability of giant AI to process massive amounts of data can lead to unprecedented insights and solutions in various sectors, from health care and education to agriculture and energy, and its benefit lies in its ability to predict future trends and outcomes through data analysis, and it is possible that this work… The potential to transform the way we address challenges such as climate change, resource allocation, and economic planning, making our efforts more proactive to adapt strategies.
Anticipating factors that lead to poverty, such as climate risks, social unrest, or disease outbreaks, improving resource allocation, and predicting crop yields will be influential in alleviating poverty and improving people’s quality of life.
In my speech, I identified ten areas in which AI can reduce poverty and contribute to implementing the United Nations development goals.
As a doctor, educator, and teacher, I see the opportunities and the challenges, so I focused on eradicating poverty and promoting dignity and equality for human beings, on education and health. The role of AI in education is transformative and multi-faceted, offering the potential to transform the way educational content is delivered, personalized and assessed, and enabling the creation of personalized learning experiences for students by adapting materials to suit their learning pace, style and interests.
Also, the automation of administrative tasks in education is as important as the content of education, such as grading, scheduling, and the shift towards decentralization.
AI will enable early detection of learning difficulties, identify difficulties and challenges early, and allow teachers to intervene early with personalized learning plans. .
AI will contribute to creating global educational communities by breaking down geographical and linguistic barriers, and translation tools and collaborative platforms will enable students from different parts of the world to learn together and from each other.
It will provide opportunities for continuing professional development and can use predictive analytics to identify trends in educational institutions to make informed decisions about curriculum modifications, resource allocations, and student support services.
Despite its potential, integrating AI into education comes with challenges, including ensuring equitable access, protecting student privacy, and preserving the human element that is crucial to learning.
Enhancing health care also comes from the ability of AI to enable early detection of diseases, reduce diagnostic errors, increase the efficiency of providing health care and remote health care while developing personal treatment plans for patients by analyzing data from various sources, including genetic information, to understand Disease patterns and predicting how different individuals will respond to treatment, not to mention discovering and developing drugs, predicting their effects, and improving the design of clinical trials.
AI will have a role in developing wearable devices for patients and providing real-time data that may lead to timely intervention and even determine the type of intervention.
In the field of precision agriculture, AI can analyze weather and soil data to guide farmers toward the best times to plant and harvest crops, which increases productivity and reduces crop losses, which is called precision agriculture.
Also, managing natural resources and improving the use of water and energy will contribute to supporting local economies and will contribute to…
Expanding new job opportunities in areas such as software development, big data, and analytics, which contributes to reducing unemployment rates, contrary to what is rumored. .
The efficiency of providing government services, from distributing aid more effectively to improving the country’s infrastructure and analyzing the quality and feasibility of spending, will allow for better transparency and governance that does not allow corruption and enhances oversight and accountability, which contributes to eliminating poverty and strengthening democracy to create a world in which poverty is replaced with dignity, opportunity and hope.
Artificial intelligence is a tool, which requires competent understanding governments in countries where poverty is widespread to use it correctly for the benefit of the people. Artificial intelligence is a tool, which requires competent understanding governments in countries where poverty is widespread to use it correctly for the benefit of the people to reduce poverty and increase the happiness of their people. Rulers in developed countries have a conscience and a minimum set of virtues and principles so that they do not use these tools to kill, oppress, annihilate, and increase poverty and misery for humanity.
